[He thinks he understands why Beatrice kept pushing him to join the fencing club now. He had done it at her prompting, and because they had did a little of it when they were younger, and he had been okay at it, if not particularly motivated. Beatrice wanted him to be able to look out for himself, to channel all his buried anger into something.

He's not going to close his eyes and wait for someone to save him. Oria would, he knows. But it's people thinking he can only rely on Oria that keeps putting him in these situations. So without an answer, he swings up with a right hook - fast and hard - because he's angry]
