Faust makes a noise of surprise. Sinclair's face grows dark as he tells Faust.
"Isn't that what it is? You're bringing us along to use as sensors for the Boughs."
Sinclair is overshadowed by the intelligence of the geniuses Faust and Yi Sang, and the worldly military knowledge/tactics of Outis and Mersault, but he is sharp and educated. Things like these don't escape him. He's just young and prone to wanting to believe in the best of people, even after he suffered what he did.
(The belief in people probably stayed alive because of Demian. Besides, aside from Kromer, only he was to blame, really. He caused this)
