[ Oria keeps to Sinclair's pace as he walks alongside him over to the basement. Past the bowling alley, there's the home theater room. Cozy with lots of pillows and cushions.
He thinks about the list. Rush Hour? Kung Fu Panda? Spy Kids?? He remembers seeing Agent Cody Banks a while ago, which is. Well. ]
Here. I have a list.
[ He shows Sinclair his phone screen which has a ton of action movies on its list with a short synopsis and movie poster right next to it. ]
[ He wouldn't really call this a date movie, but it's something they both seem to be okay with, so there. The movie plays and Oria makes himself comfortable with Sinclair cuddling up to him. ]
[ He watches the screen while cuddling with Sinclair. It's nice to have moments like this. It's peaceful despite the action movie in the theater room. The sound of gunfire is just like firecrackers. Nothing to worry about. He shoots those all the time. The fantastical world of the Matrix makes him think back on their Fragment days.
The Matrix was created as a simulated reality by intelligent machines in order to control and subdue the human population. The machines needed to harness the energy produced by humans, who had been subdued and kept docile within the Matrix. It feels a little backwards from what Sinclair deals with his workplace too. It's a little daunting that something as so removed from reality such as this science fiction movie can actually feel relatable to him now.
He keeps his expression at bay as he keeps watching. ]
I think I'd always pick the red pill.
[ The red pill would enable the main character to understand what was actually occurring outside the illusion created by the Matrix. The blue pill would allow him to return to experiencing only that illusion. There is no way Oria would be happy to be living in an illusion. That was the whole point of how Cubia snagged the others. He remembers. ]
That's only if your eyes are opened to it being an illusion, right?
[ Humans value authenticity. Of course they would value the red one--they'd even boast about such a thing. Oria doesn't think it's wrong to take the blue one, as long as it doesn't harm anybody else. The Cubia situation vastly differed from that, taking away their choices. People also affect someone else, which causes a chain reaction in that affecting more people as it branches out.
Oria sometimes has so many thoughts when it seems like he has none. Of course, that's the entire gimmick to let the people let their guard down. ]
But I'd only take the red one because I want to take responsibility for my own screw ups--not something that was predetermined for me.
[ When Sinclair thinks about how much Fragment erased his memories, he gets a little mad again. It sucked that nothing he did could protect him from that. But he also understands why illusions are important sometimes. He had lived in one of his family's making after all; gentle and warm...
Sinclair nods, snuggling a little closer]
There'd always be that sense of 'what if' for me...I rather make my choices knowing what's happening than being blind.
[ Oof. It still makes Oria laugh. Would he like all those Sinclairs? Maybe. But still, he hugs a little tight because this Sinclair will be his. And only his.
At least there's no sex scenes in the first movie. Oria sees them kiss though. And there was that other scene where the lady in a tight red dress was trying to seduce someone... ]
[ Seduction scenes are kinda awkward to watch sometimes but it's fine. Sinclair is happily snuggled against Oria, content and warm as the credits roll]

[He wont get healthier if he stays still all day!! He'll hold Oria's hand though
oria pls]no subject
Good enough.
[ Oria bounces off the bed and holds out his hand to Sinclair. ]
What movie do you wanna watch? Anything in mind? I can probably get pay-per-view or something.
no subject
[ Sinclair is very firm on the latter as he takes Oria's hand and leans into him. Baby steps...!]

Maybe the Matrix...?
[ Can't beat the classics]

[ After guiding Sinclair to the seats, Oria gets up to load the movie into the player to project it onto the screen. ]
I don't think I watched this in soooo long.
no subject
[ Sinclair sits down, waits for Oria to finish setting up before cuddling up next to him]
It's definitely been awhile.

If you want water or anything, lemme know.

[Sinclair nods, just content to lay there and watch. It's something they can take in while watching]

It's hard imagining being content with the blue one...

[ Because that's often the only agency the person gets to have, is what he doesn't say. He looks at the screen. ]
When you talked about dodging bullets, I was specifically thinking of this scene.
no subject
[Sinclair laughs watching the bullets fly in slow motion]
I almost forgot...
no subject
There's no way I can do that, by the way. I'm also not that flexible for limbo like that...
no subject
Mmm. Probably no one can. Too bad.
[He shouldn't laugh. His throat still hurts]

eyebrow waggle
Anyway, the subway fight scene is pretty rad, and Oria likes action things like this. ]
Honestly, seeing all those agents at once would make me feel like I'm in a fever dream.
no subject
another day probably.
Sinclair nods, wincing when the train runs an agent over and squishes him. No blood or guts, but Sinclair's imagination can fill in the gaps]
Mm...that's when you start feeling like you're losing your mind.

[ Stop him ]

[Elbowing Oria gently. He hasn't forgotten the time Oria messed with him by gaining a double!]

Another film?

[ Or they can pick another movie. Oria seems fine either way. ]
Want the list again?

[ Sinclair agrees with that sentiment]
