She could easily prioritize eliminating the intruders and strengthening the Library's defenses, yet she is willing to give them an opening to escape — and to return. Is it simply curiosity or a sort of compassion for unwelcome beings, a desire to understand others fully, no matter what they are?

(And they did learn that the Library's guests weren't truly killed, a choice that Angela must have made all along.)

Yesod accepts Angela's response with a nod even as the unfolding chaos appears to reach a crescendo. His colleagues' voices carry; the gnomes' odd manner of speech makes for discordant interjections. ]
