Ah--you recognised him? [Sinclair brightens a little at the mention of the name. He picks up his toasted sandwich and takes a small bite. Nom]

Mm, I...guess so? The ship he was on came by and helped us out of a bind during a freak typhoon. He seemed familiar with what we were fighting.

[Keeping it vague in public]

[ Oria continues to shovel small portions of lasagna that he cuts. He doesn't make it too obvious, but when he uses the knife, it starts cutting at the bottom of the container a bit. ]

Did you get his contact information? Since you mentioned that he just kinda disappeared back then.

[Sinclair blinks at Oria's eating. Hmmm??]

Um. There wasn't really a chance for that. But it sounds like he spends a lot of time traveling anyway so...

[Demian probably doesn't even have a steady contact number]

Not even a cell phone or email address?

[ And a guy who travels a lot? He wonders if he also hunts for abnormalities and such... Oria is about to say that he could have asked when he was getting off the ship, but holds himself back. ]

Well, did you guys at least hang out for a bit?

...honestly, things happened so quickly I didn't even get to think about it.

[Sipping at his frappe]

Mm. We got to catch up for a bit. He's seen so much of the world, it's incredible.

[ Oria knows that Sinclair also wants to travel and take a look around the world, but he wonders if he could ever go with him. Honestly, he wouldn't mind if Sinclair did just that with some friends and Oria would help fund it. Between the two of them, at least one has something they want to do in the future regarding themselves. ]

Are all those stories confidential too?

[ First container is finished. He takes a sip of his drink and gets working on the second container. He does want to hear stories from Sinclair, but he figures that he can't talk about them very much in public. ]

[ Sinclair shakes his head]

No, we can talk about it.

[ It's about what Demian has seen overseas - in the many countries around Africa, the Asian continent... his admiration is clear. But if Oria asks him about his own adventures, he'll talk about the pirate attack too]

[ When Oria listens to Sinclair talk about Demian's worldly experience, he can't find himself to get mad or jealous. Sinclair looks so happy talking about it. Sinclair's happiness simmers Oria's jealousy to a very manageable level and Oria can't help but to smile. To him, Sinclair's happiness is much more important than his own jealousy or anything else.

This is what love really must be like, he thinks. ]

You know, Emil... sometimes you feel like you match with a lion than anything else.

[ Yes, even birds--those yellow chicks too. ]

As to how I arrived at that thought... wouldn't it be really fun if you could pet a lion safely?

Ah... that'd be scary but so cool...I remember watching a video where a couple got to hug the lions they rescued as cubs...

Wouldn't it be really fun if you could like, drape over a lion's mane and then bury your face into it? It would be so fluffy if it was maintained properly...

[ Going to the zoo and doing that would be a much safer bet, but that would take away the entire point of doing it in the first place. ]

Are you free to talk about what happened on the ship? I want to hear about your experiences.

Ahaha, you'd have to wash it a lot I think. I managed to pet a fox before but its fur was rougher than expected.

[Then Sinclair groans and covers his face. But he's glad Oria seems happier and more relaxed now...]

I can...do you want to hear about how we lost our washing then?

Sure! Let's start with that.

[ He really does want to hear, so he gives Sinclair his full attention other than him eating his lasagna. Eating requires absolutely no attention for him by now. ]

So we had to get some help from some deep sea fishermen because what we were hunting were avoiding normal means of capture, and a pirate group had captured one of the members of our before-team. Normally pirates leave deep sea fishermen alone because they know they don't have money, but they saw our ship and saw it was new...so they launched an attack, by trying to pincer us

[Sinclair goes into detail of the chaos - Don swinging around a giant javelin to scare some of the pirates off, but also cutting the clothes line that sent their clothes flying. Heathcliff stealing something from one of the pirates, but also Outis' and Ishmael's attempts to make the pirates 'walk the plank' once they were subdued. There's the finding of a 'ghost' ship in an area where all signals disappeared anyway and that had been terrifying...but the old deep sea fisherman seemed to have hits wits about him at least and helped them out of a really tight spot with another pirate ship attack]

[ Oria listens and listens. Wow. It sounds like a movie plot, but he knows this actually happened, since he has faith that Sinclair wouldn't lie about this. ]

Wow...

[ Seriously. What the hell. ]

Were you allowed to use weapons on the pirates? You know, for self-defense.

Mmm... it's allowed but we try not to if we can help it.

[ Or at least, Sinclair tried not to]

That's what our batons were for at least...but apparently these attacks are pretty common on small vessels that look like they have people with money on board.

[ ... ... ... ]

[ --have money, that is. ]

It feels pretty pointless to bring money into a deep sea expedition.

[ He sure does! He noticed when he was looking up the employees from LCB at some point. Hong Lu was an interesting case, because it seemed like he traded heritage for freedom, something Oria could never do. ]

Oh, him? He looks like any other guy to me if he's wearing your company uniform though. Is his weapon decked out or something?

Mm, not particularly. But he seems to get under people's skin without realising it by making it known how rich he was...or maybe he does realise it.

[ Hong Lu was so good natured that it seemed like the former...but you never know...]

[ Good natured but deadly... ]

... Well, you know him more personally than I do.

[ What a mystery. Oria is on the fourth container. The third? It's been gone for a while. ]

All that sounds eventful though. Maybe you didn't need the Kindle after all.

[Sinclair shakes his head. He skipped over the tedium of most of their adventure out there]

There were two weeks where we were just floating in place with absolutely nothing to do or see. The kindle saved my sanity. Or I'd have been roped into helping Gregor and Rodya capture seagulls.

[ The others were not as lucky. ]

Did you guys run out of food?

[ Why capture seagulls?? Huh?? Did they think one of them was an albatross?? ]
