Yeah, that's true. I'm still glad though. [Sinclair leans into Oria and takes his hand. Oria is lucky Sinclair didn't bring the book with him for some light reading] A few more rounds around the park before we go shopping?

[ Honestly, if someone brought a book to their date, Oria would probably be offended because that would imply that the date is so boring that you'd rather read? Hello?? Insulting.

He firmly holds his hand. ]

Wanna race some laps?

[insinning]

[Reading is for long commutes, Oria!! Commutes! Like the plane ride over where Sinclair was deeply worried they'd all be banned from the airport. He grins]

Sure. What's the goal?

[dissimulative]

First to run three laps around the park wins! Touch that pole for it to count as a lap.

[ He points to a streetlamp pole over yonder. Pretty easy, right...? ]

You ready?

[insinning]

Ah. Ready. [How fast can Oria go...?]

Ready, set--go!

[ Oria zooms. He doesn't need to ramp up speed for too long either, since it looks like he knows how to do that well without tripping. It's a pretty important skill for him to ramp up speed quickly because he needs to get from place to place. He even kicks off the fence from the side to change directions and nyoooom. ]

Ah--wait a second--

[ Sinclair yelps and nearly trips as he tries to speed up as he skates after Oria]

[ Oria skates backwards to see Sinclair. It really is pretty unfair to challenge him to a race... ]

Hey, be careful!

[insinning]

I am being careful--

[ Sinclair will pout a little because he doesn't want Oria taking it completely easy on him and manages to stabilise his next attempt at picking up speed. This is harder for sure]

[ Oria sees Sinclair's attempt and goes back to facing the front as some sort of courtesy. He keeps skating ahead, reaching the pole to finish his first lap. Then he kicks off from the pole to get a head start for the second lap.

But still, Oria isn't leaving him in the dust. ]

[ Hmmm, he wonders if he can copy that burst of speed somehow...

Sinclair glances at a ramp grimaces, but he does go a little off course to take the small ramp from before to speed himself along. He wont win but he's determined not to lose pitifully.]

[ It's definitely copyable! In fact, it uses the most basic moves, so as long as Sinclair has the balance for it, he can definitely pull it off.

Oria has to pause for a moment to avoid collision with another skater, but after that, he resumes. ]

[ Sinclair lets gravity help him close the distance. With how Oria had to stop, he's a definitely close enough to grab Oria if he lets him]

[ Oria wasn't aware that Sinclair had caught up so quickly, so when his shoulder is grabbed, he's startled. ]

Wha--Emil? Already?!

What? [ Oria gets an impish smile. That's what he gets for taking it too easy on Sinclair.]

You caught up so fast!

[ And now he's trying to get awaaaay from Sinclair, but that doesn't do much when he has him by the shoulder. ]

You slowed down.

[Sinclair will let go, because he really can't hold on like this, but he's definitely having fun with the face Oria is making at him]

[ Rude!! Oria speeds away the moment he's let go. Hmph!! Bye Sinclair...

It looks like he's about to crash into someone, but he just swerves around the incoming person without effort. He seems very used to this... ]

[insinning]

Ahh--wait up.

[ Sinclair will give chase, even though no matter what he does he can't close the last bit of distance.]

[dissimulative]

[ Oria tags the pole and then bounces back to where Sinclair is to give him a hug. In the middle of skating? He doesn't care. Hug now.

Then he just lifts Sinclair to spin him around. ]

[ Sinclair throws his arms around Oria's shoulders with an undignified yelp as he's suddenly spun around]

Aaah, Oria?

[dissimulative]

[ He steadies his balance and smiles at Sinclair. ]

I'm not gonna leave you behind. I'll always come back.

[ Cheesy. Anyway. ]

Let's go return your rental skates.

[insinning]

[Sinclair turns red. Definitely cheesy, come on Oria. He does give Oria a little return squeeze and nods]

You'll have to put me down though.

[dissimulative]

True... but should I?

[ Oria laughs, putting Sinclair gently down on the ground anyway. ]

C'mon. Let's go.

[insinning]

[For a short moment, Sinclair had been tempted to say "you can't carry me for that long anyway" but Oria was good at lifting people and he suspects Oria would just take that as a challenge which he didn't want. But his feet are back on the ground so he takes Oria's hand happily as they return to the center to drop off Sinclair's skates and pick up his shoes again]

What were you thinking of for dinner?
